Today, I’m going to answer a common question we get from customers: will Plotter or Filofax inserts fit in a Meeplus ring binder, and vice versa?
When it comes to compatibility, there are two main things to keep in mind: whether the distance between the rings and the holes on your inserts are the same, and whether the size of the inserts will fit within the cover. Let me walk you through each of these.
First, let’s talk about the ring distance. The good news is that almost all ring specs on the market are standardized, so you won’t need to worry about whether the holes on your inserts will line up correctly when switching between different brands. That part is generally compatible across the board.
Next, let’s look at the size of the inserts themselves. To help make things clearer, I’ve created a comparison chart that shows the dimensions of Meeplus Slimpad & Plotter covers alongside inserts from three brands.
Mini Size:
The "Mini" size typically refers to inserts that are 4.13” in height. Japanese brands like Plotter use 2.44”x4.13” refills, which they call Mini 5. Filofax and Meeplus use 2.64”x4.13” refills, which is slightly wider than Plotter’s Mini 5. Some Amazon sellers offer inserts sized at 2.83” x 4.13”. On Amazon, these three types of inserts are often referred to as A8. If you have Plotter Mini 5 or Filofax Mini inserts, they will fit perfectly into the Meeplus Slimpad Mini cover. However, if your inserts are 2.83” wide, they may stick out slightly from the Slimpad Mini cover.
Pocket Size:
The "Pocket" size typically refers to inserts that are 4.7” in height. Filofax and Meeplus use 3.19”x4.72”, which they both call Pocket. Plotter uses 3.15”x5”, which is slightly longer and referred to as Mini size. Some sellers on Amazon label this as A7. The Meeplus Slimpad Pocket cover has the same dimensions as Plotter’s cover, measuring 3.9” x 5.5”, making inserts from all three brands fully compatible.
Personal Size:
The Personal size refers to inserts that are 6.7” in height. While Plotter calls this size "Bible," both Filofax and Meeplus call it "Personal," and the dimensions are almost identical across these three brands. On Amazon, you might find it listed as A6. However, there are a few variations within the Personal size that you should know about.
For example, there’s the Narrow version. Plotter's Narrow has a width of 3.1”, while Meeplus’s is 3.2”, which is only a slight difference. The great news is that the Meeplus Narrow cover has the same width as Plotter’s Narrow cover, which is 3.9”, so it works seamlessly with inserts from both brands.
Then, we have the Personal FC, with dimensions of 42.5”x6.75”, and the Personal Wide, which is 50.3”x6.75”.
