MeePlus Slimpad 11 mm vs 16 mm Leather Ring Binder Comparison — Which One Fits You Better?

MeePlus Slimpad 11 mm vs 16 mm Leather Ring Binder Comparison — Which One Fits You Better?

If you’ve ever wondered whether the 11 mm or 16 mm MeePlus Slimpad leather binder is better for your needs, this post is for you.
Both are Personal-size binders, but they differ in capacity, writing comfort, cover size, and how index tabs fit inside.
In this article, we’ll walk through four key aspects:

1. Ring capacity

2. Writing experience

3. Cover size

4. Index tab fit

1. Ring Capacity

Let’s start with what most people care about first — how many pages each binder can hold.
A pack of our thin refill paper contains about 100 sheets, and the 11 mm binder can hold around 110 thin sheets.
A pack of our thick refill paper has about 40 sheets, and the 11mm binder can fit roughly 50 thick sheets.
The 16 mm binder, on the other hand, can hold around 200 thin sheets or about 90 thick sheets.
In other words, the 16 mm binder offers nearly double the capacity of the 11mm version, making it ideal if you like to keep multiple sections or refills in one planner.

2. Writing Experience

When it comes to writing comfort, the 11 mm binder tends to feel smoother and easier to use, especially on the left-hand side of the page.
The smaller rings create less interference, which makes it a great option for those who write frequently or prefer a clean, minimal setup.
That said, the 16 mm binder still feels perfectly usable—it just takes a little getting used to.
If the rings ever feel in your way, you can rotate the binder 90 degrees while writing or simply take out the page and write on it flat.

3. Cover Size

Although both binders are labeled as Personal size, their cover widths are slightly different.
The 16 mm version is a few millimeters wider than the 11 mm one.
This is because larger rings push the refills slightly farther to the right.
To keep the pages and tabs well-protected, we widened the 16 mm cover slightly to leave extra space for index tabs.

4. Index Tabs Fit

Let’s take a closer look at how index tabs fit inside both binders.
I’m using 6 mm index tabs, placed at the top and right edges of the pages.
In the 11 mm binder, the tabs don’t stick out, but they are very close to the edge.
In the 16 mm binder, the same tabs also stay within the cover, though it’s a very tight fit—almost perfectly flush with the edge.
Both binders work well with standard 6 mm tabs. The 11 mm version feels slightly neater, while the 16 mm binder gives a bit more space if you prefer thicker or laminated dividers.

Summary

- Choose the 11 mm binder if you value lightness, portability, and a comfortable writing feel.
- Choose the 16 mm binder if you need more capacity and prefer keeping everything together in one planner.
