Lightweight Paper
This paper is a reproduction based on the manufacturing process of Tomoe River paper, sharing similar qualities such as being ultra-thin, durable, and smooth. During production, a certain amount of resin is added to the pulp to strengthen the bonds between the fibers. This ensures that even though the paper is very thin, it remains strong and durable.
After drying, a thin layer of coating is applied to the surface, giving it a smooth finish. This coating slows down ink absorption, unlike regular paper where ink is quickly soaked in. As a result, most of the ink dries on the surface, and from certain angles, the dried ink can show a subtle, iridescent effect.
Because of this, the paper is relatively resistant to ink bleed-through. However, due to its thinness, the writing on the front side can still show through to the other side. This "show-through without bleed-through" is a characteristic it shares with Tomoe River paper, making it particularly well-suited for fountain pen users.
