The MeePlus Slimpad Reporter Series was designed with inspiration drawn from the classic notebooks used by reporters. When reporters are out on assignments, they need something quick and convenient to jot down notes. A top-opening notebook allows them to hold it in one hand and write with the other — perfect for speed and practicality.
The Idea Behind “Reporter”
We named this design the Reporter Series because it captures that same spirit of quick, accessible note-taking. Unlike traditional side-opening planners, the Reporter opens from the top, making it ideal for spontaneous thoughts, interviews, or field notes.
The biggest advantage of the Reporter is its writing experience. With the rings positioned at the top, your hand never bumps into them while writing. This layout provides a smoother, lighter, and more comfortable feel — especially for those who value an uninterrupted writing flow.
Comparing the Reporter and the Classic Slimpad
Our classic MeePlus Slimpad opens from the side, using compact 11 mm rings. For most people, this doesn’t interfere with writing. However, if you’re new to ring binders and just transitioning from a traditional notebook, you might find the side rings slightly unfamiliar at first. That’s why the Mini Reporter serves as a great starting point — it’s simple, compact, and easy to write in.

Customization and Sizing
Many people have asked whether the Reporter Series will be available in larger sizes. The answer is yes — it’s fully customizable.
The width of a Reporter notebook depends on the ring and spine length. We already offer Mini, Pocket, and Personal ring options that can be rotated horizontally to create Reporter-style binders. This means the possible widths are 122 mm, 142 mm, and 182 mm, while the height can be freely customized by trimming the leather.

At the moment, these larger Reporter versions are not listed on our website because we haven’t yet sourced matching refills for those sizes. However, if you’d like a larger version, please feel free to contact us — we can provide custom-made options. You can also cut and punch your own refills to match your preferred dimensions.
Similarities Between the Classic Mini and Mini Reporter
-
Both share the same outer dimensions: 82 × 122 mm, fitting refills sized 67 × 105 mm.
-
Both use 11 mm rings.
-
Both can be customized with various leathers, card slots, and closure straps.

Key Differences
- The Classic Mini uses Krause rings, while the Mini Reporter currently does not. This smaller size is not yet available from Krause, and may require a special order. Krause rings are known for their tight and precise closure.
- The Classic Mini offers more accessory options, including the 2-in-1 card insert and custom strap designs that let you attach your favorite charm. The Mini Reporter currently has fewer accessory choices.
- The Classic Mini supports a wider range of refills — not only blank, dotted, and grid paper, but also yearly, monthly, and weekly layouts. The Mini Reporter, for now, comes with two thickness options of blank refills only.
Which One Should You Choose?
- If you’re new to ring binders and worried that the rings might interfere with your writing, the Mini Reporter is the perfect entry-level choice — simple, compact, and smooth to write in.
- If you’re already familiar with ring binders and looking for more customization and accessory options, the Classic Mini may suit you better.
