At MeePlus, we believe the leather you choose should match your lifestyle, aesthetic, and personal preferences. Today, let’s take a closer look at the four types of leather we currently offer: Pueblo, Fog Wax, Buttero, and British Bridle. Each has its own personality, aging style, and care needs—so let’s dive in and help you find your perfect match.
1. Pueblo Leather — Textured and Timeless
First up is Pueblo leather from Italy. Known for its distinctive matte, rough texture and velvety touch, it’s a favorite among leather lovers who appreciate a handcrafted, artisan look.
What makes Pueblo special is how it ages. With regular use, the surface gradually smooths out and develops a rich sheen and deeper color, giving it a beautifully aged patina over time.
Keep in mind: the textured surface can attract dust and stains more easily than smoother leathers, so it requires a bit of extra care to keep it looking its best.
Here is a comparison photo showing the leather before and after the color change.
2. Fog Wax Leather — Evolving Beauty
Next is Fog Wax leather, a medium-firm leather finished with a layer of white protective wax. This wax not only gives it a unique appearance out of the box but also creates a dynamic aging process. As the wax gradually wears away with use, the underlying color emerges, revealing a smoother, glossier surface with tons of character.
It’s ideal for those who enjoy watching their leather visibly transform over time.
A few caveats: the wax is sensitive to water and oils, and as it wears off unevenly, the surface may look patchy at times—but that’s also part of its charm.
3. Buttero Leather — Sleek and Polished
Also hailing from Italy, Buttero leather is smooth, sleek, and has a slightly oily finish that gives it a luxurious handfeel. It’s medium-firm and offers a polished, modern look that becomes richer and glossier with time.
Buttero is loved for its elegance, but it does require some care. The glossy surface is prone to scratches, and while light marks can often be buffed out with your finger or a soft cloth, deeper ones tend to linger. It may also wrinkle slightly at bends due to its stiffness.
4. British Bridle Leather — Classic and Durable
Last but not least is Bridle leather, sourced from the UK. It’s our firmest and most durable option, traditionally used in equestrian gear and saddlery. It has a dry, smooth feel and develops character slowly, maintaining a refined, timeless appearance.
If you’re looking for a leather that will hold its shape and stand the test of time, Bridle is an excellent choice.
However: it’s quite stiff at first and can take a while to break in. It’s also typically available in darker, more subdued tones.
